Hurricane Gustav is currently 240 miles southwest of Sanibel traveling northwest at 16 mph. Sustained winds are at 120 mph with higher gusts. Gustav is currently a Category 3 hurricane (111 mph-130 mph).
Tropical Storm Hanna- Advisory
Tropical Storm Hanna is currently 820 miles east of Sanibel traveling west-northwest near 12 mph. Sustained winds are near 60 mph little change in strength is expected during the next couple days.
Sanibel Forecast
Today… Isolated showers and storms in some rain bands. Isolated severe weather with the possibility of tornadic activity. Winds east to southeast at 15mph to 20 mph with higher gusts.
Tonight… Isolated showers. Winds southeast at 10 mph to 20 mph.
Labor Day… Scattered showers and thunderstorms developing. Winds southeast 5 mph to 10 mph.
